Here's another thing to do when you're unemployed: call in to NPR talk shows. I asked a question on The Connection (fast-forward in the stream to 22:20), talking about the impact of accurate sales figures on the book injury. I got to talk to Nina Totenberg, and one of the guests called me "very smart."

Went to the Newport Folk Festival with my friend Karla. The best set of the day was by The Waifs, an Australian folk-pop trio. The Indigo Girls were the headliners but a bit disappointing.
